The A K A Day challenge takes place in May, so please sign up in advance here. After May? You can donate online 24/7/365 to Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Yes. A K A Day is designed to be inclusive. You choose a distance that suits your lifestyle and move your way. There’s no pressure to be fast or perfect — just consistent and kind to yourself.

Entries will be taken up until the 10th of May, but we’ll still expect you to cover the full distance for the 31 days of May e.g. if you sign up for 1k per day on the 10th, you’ll still need to cover 31km by the end of May.

As we hope to encourage lots of families to take part together, one person from a household can register for the entire family. Each person will receive a unique number and of course your A K A Day medal should you opt in to receive one.

There are various ways to record your workouts from well-known apps like Strava and Map My Run to a more traditional paper pen and paper approach!. How you record your distance is up to you, we only need to see evidence such as a screenshot, picture or spreadsheet showing you have completed the distance.

Once your evidence has been submitted and verified, you will receive a bespoke A K A Day medal in the post if you choose to receive one, or you can donate the cost of your medal to the fundraising pot.

Don’t stress, just keep a note of it and let us know when you submit your evidence.

Maybe. We would hope that in keeping with the spirit of the event, that participants would be truthful and committed to completing the distance. Would you lie for a medal you didn’t earn? Nope, neither would we.

The money raised from this challenge will be donated to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) a charity dedicated to preventing young sudden cardiac deaths. CRY are committed to reducing such deaths through awareness, screening, and research. CRY have a dedicated fund set up in Robert’s name and the money raised from this event will be given directly to this fund in order to facilitate heart screening sessions for young people in the UK.
